A new feature on FurBuy allows sellers to use different bidding increment options on their auctions. The Standard bid increments are $0.25 between $1 and $10, $0.50 between $10 and $25, $1.00 between $25 and $50, $2.00 between $50 and $100, $5.00 between $100 and $250, $10 between $250 and $500, and then $25 for all values of $500 or more. Additionally, sellers may choose a Double, Quadruple or Quintuple bidding increment which is the same as the above values but multiplied by 2, 4 or 5 respectively. And finally sellers may set a Custom Bid Increment amount if they so choose - the value of a Custom Bid Increment can be anywhere from $0.01 to $100.00 - please note we typically recommend against using Custom Bid Increments as they do not scale with the value of your auction and may do more harm than good in the end.
What do Bid Increments Mean?
Bid Increments dictate what the minimum bid amount is over the current bid price on an auction. For instance if an auction's current bid price is $15.00 and the Bid Increment is Standard, the Minimum Bid Price for any new bids being placed would be $15.50 whereas if the Bid Increment were set to Quadruple that would be $17.00 - Please note that auctions without bids on them begin bidding at the Opening Bid Price and do not calculate Bid Increments.
