Direct Buy allows buyers to immediately buyout an auction at a price set by the seller.
Once a bidder uses the Direct Buy option, the auction immediately closes and the bidder automatically wins for the amount of the Direct Buy price. The seller may choose whether or not the placing of normal bids on a Direct Buy auction will remove the Direct Buy feature. If the seller does not check the "Direct Buy Persists" checkbox in the new auction form, then when regular bids are placed on the auction before Direct Buy is used the Direct Buy option disappears. An auction with Direct Buy will indicate in the Auction Details page whether or not Direct Buy will persist after normal bids are placed. Also note that once normal bidding exceeds the Direct Buy price, the option will go away regardless of the seller's choice.
Bidders: To use Direct Buy when bidding on an auction, simply select the checkbox for Direct Buy at the bottom of the auction listing and click the "Place Bid" button. You do not need enter a bid value to use the Direct Buy feature - checking the box will automatically set your bid to the Direct Buy price and end the auction.
If you were previously the high bidder on an auction and someone else used Direct Buy to win the auction, you should receive an e-mail notification letting you know that you have been outbid and that the auction is now closed.
