In a nutshell, this page is a barometer for a user's reliability in leaving feedback for other users. Users have an opportunity to leave feedback anytime they successfully sell an auction item (for each winning bidder), win an auction item (being a high bidder), or when a buyer and seller complete a store order. We get the "Left" and "Miss" numbers only when an auction or store order is archived (usually 180 days after completion) based on the state of potential feedback (whether or not each user has done their part in leaving feedback for the other). These statistics are important because feedback helps build community and reputation on FurBuy - when one user leaves positive feedback on another, the user receiving the feedback goes up in rating by one point. However, that alone does not inform others of how responsible each user is in leaving feedback - if you want to improve your rating on FurBuy then this list may help you in choosing sellers (or buyers) worthy of your business.

How we calculate the numbers: First we gather up the Left and Miss values for each user, then use that to determine a Percent score, which is simply the integer value of Left divided by the total of Left and Miss. Users with a Percent greater than 50 qualify for the Hall of Fame while those with a Percent score 50 and below are placed in the Hall of Shame. By making a Normal we cause the percentile to play a larger role in the final Score value, so we subtract 40 from Percent higher than 50, and add 40 to percent lower than 51. We then generate a Score by multiplying the Normal times Left for Hall of Famers, and the negative inverse of Normal times Miss for Hall of Shamers. We then sort those Score values to get our Top 50 list, any leftovers are placed in the Honorable Mentions section in their Score orders. Users who have never had any opportunities to leave feedback for archived items will not appear in either list.

Got Feedback to Leave? If you're the high bidder when an auction closes, or you are the seller of an auction that ends with high bidder(s), you can leave feedback. If you are the seller, it's generally good practice to leave feedback after the transaction with the buyer is completed to your satisfaction. That may be as soon as you receive payment, or once you've verified your side of the contract. This page does not reflect actual rating, it is provided for information purposes only. This data only goes back to early 2009 when we began recording Left and Miss statistics. Don't like where you're at in the list? Start leaving feedback. "They didn't leave feedback on me, so I won't leave it for them." is not a valid excuse.
