Posting fees are charged for posting new auctions on the FurBuy system, and you must have an account on balance with the system in order to post new auctions. When you post a new auction, your account will be immediately charged by the total of all the posting fees for that new auction based on the fee tables below. If your account does not have sufficient funds to post the auction, you will be immediately notified and the auction cannot be posted until you add more funds to your account balance by sending a payment. You will have the option at that point of saving the auction until you have sufficient funds, then posting it at that time. See the Payment Guidelines document for more information on adding to your account balance.

Explanation of Add-Ons:
Reserve Price: A Reserve Price may be set on any Normal Auction to ensure that it sells for a desired minimum. Normally this price should be higher than the opening bid, and be at least the amount you would like to sell the piece for. If the Reserve Price is not met or exceeded by the final bid, the seller and buyer are not obligated to complete the sale. However, should the reserve be met, then the sale should proceed per normal auction rules.Priority Listing: This feature adds special attention to your auction in the normal text listings. If enabled, this feature will cause your auction to be listed in bold text at the top of the listings pages.
Art Show Listing: By placing the URL to an 80x80 GIF or JPG thumbnail image in this field, the thumbnail will be shown in the Art Show listings.
Priority Art Show: In addition to the normal Art Show thumbnail, you may also place the URL to a 160x160 GIF or JPG image in this field. All Priority Art Show listings will appear at the top of the Art Show pages in the order of closing time at four times larger size than the normal Art Show Listing images.
Hot Item Auction: Place the URL to an 80x80 thumbnail image here in order to have the auction appear in the Hot Items listings, and be rotated on the main page of the FurBuy site. Hot Items images are rotated on the main page every 6 minutes giving an equal distribution to all such auctions.
Bid Time Extension: This feature helps in making sure snipers don't pick off an auction in the last seconds by extending the closing time by the chosen number of minutes after the last bid. For instance, if you select the 15 minute option and someone bids 2 minutes before the close of the auction, it will be extended 15 minutes after that bid was placed, giving any others interested more of a chance to bid.
House Sale Fees
House sales fees are charged by FurBuy as a commission for the completion of sales on the system, and are based on the final value of an auction. These fees are graduated based on the price ranges in the fee tables below. If the house sales fee exceeds your account balance, then your account will go negative and you will owe FurBuy Internet Systems the negative amount. You will also not be able to post any new auctions until the negative balance is paid in full, in addition to any positive balance necessary to post that new auction.
How to Calculate House Sale Fee: Just looking at the table below can be confusing, so we have provided a brief explanation on how you use it to find the total house sale fee. If an auction ends at $100 or less, the fee is simply 2.5% of the final bid price. If an auction ends between $100 and $300, then the total commision from the first $100 ($2.50) is added to the amount OVER $100 at 1.5%. The same is done for auctions ending between $300 and $1,000, adding the total commission fees from the first tier ($2.50) and second tier ($3.00) to the amount over $300 at 1.0%. So an item selling for $700 would be billed a $9.50 fee ($2.50 + $3.00 + $4.00). Any amount over $1,000 is not commissioned.
| Closing Price Range | Commission | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| $1.00 to $100.00 | 2.5% | $2.50 |
| $100.01 to $300.00 | 1.5% | $3.00 |
| $300.01 to $1000.00 | 1.0% | $7.00 |
How to Calculate House Sale Fee for Dutch Auctions: We give a special break to users who use FurBuy to sell multiple items. This is ideal for using the system to sell multiple prints all at once, or limited portfolios. To calculate the house sale fee for the close of a Dutch Auction, simply take the normal fee by the final price using the table above as normal, then multiply by the number of items that sold in the auction, and divide this result by two. Results will be rounded down to the nearest cent. For example, if a Dutch Auction ended at $700 the house sale fee would be $19 if 4 items were successfully sold. That equation is 4 * $9.50 / 2 more simply put.
